Diana Mathura-Hobson, Board Member

Diana Mathura-Hobson has served on the Board since 2016 and brings expertise in branding, customer service and project management. She has coordinated large-scale initiatives and events, contributing strategic insight and operational support to the organisation. Diana supports inclusive programmes that align with Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago’s mission. She is passionate about empowerment through sport.

Clayton Williams, Board Member & Sport Director

Clayton Williams, Board Member & Sport Director Clayton Williams is a veteran physical education specialist, coach and youth development leader with over 45 years of experience. He has held leadership roles across national sporting events and youth programmes and holds multiple coaching and education certifications. As Sport Director, he champions adaptive sport, technical excellence and inclusive athlete development. He is driven by a lifelong commitment to youth and sport.

Tyrone Marcus, Board Member

J. Tyrone Marcus is an author, lecturer in law at the University of the West Indies and a specialist in sports law. He serves on regional and international sport governance bodies and is the author of various sports law publications. He contributes legal expertise, education and ethical leadership to Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago He is passionate about integrity and excellence in sport.

Shirler Julien, Board Member & LETR Liaison Officer

Shirler Julien is an Executive Assistant and Case Management Officer with over 27 years of public service. She also serves as Secretary of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, supporting fundraising, community policing and public awareness initiatives. Shirler strengthens the partnership between law enforcement and Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago. She is committed to service, preparedness and community safety.

Alicia Hospedales, Board Member

Alicia Hospedales, Board Member Alicia Hospedales has served on the Board since 2018 and is a social development professional. She holds advanced qualifications in social work and criminology and has served as a legislator and senior policy advisor responsible for social sector policy development. Alicia contributes to advocacy, governance and research expertise in support of Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago. She is guided by faith and a commitment to social justice.

Gail Rajkumar, Board Member

Gail Rajkumar is a retired accountant and Managing Director of Accommodata Services. Her professional background spans finance, tourism, hospitality and business consulting, complemented by leadership roles in women’s entrepreneurship and community organisations. Inspired by personal experience, she supports Special Olympics and other initiatives that empower persons with disabilities. She believes in leadership that creates meaningful change.

Geoffrey Edwards, Board Member

Geoffrey Edwards is a sport management professional and development specialist. He serves as Primary Consultant at Sport Worldwide Touring Ltd, President of the Futsal Association of Trinidad and Tobago, lecturer at UWI and sport management consultant. A FIFA Master graduate, he brings expertise in governance, sport education and development. Geoffrey supports inclusive sport participation through leadership and policy development within Special Olympics. He is passionate about development through sport.

Jillian Aberdeen-Pierre, Board Member

Jillian Aberdeen-Pierre is a family advocate and Board Member whose involvement in Special Olympics began through her son’s participation. She has led family engagement initiatives and was elected to represent the Caribbean on the Global Family Leadership Council. Jillian works closely with families to strengthen inclusion, support systems and advocacy within Special Olympics. She is guided by compassion, faith and service.

Kofi Mc Intyre, Legal Officer & Board Member

Kofi Mc Intyre, Legal Officer & Board Member Kofi Mc Intyre is an Attorney-at-Law and senior commissioned officer in the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force. His legal practice spans family law, civil litigation and industrial relations, supported by strong leadership experience in youth service. He brings legal governance and compliance expertise to the Board. Appointed in 2024, he provides legal advice and oversight in support of Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago’s mission. He views service as a responsibility and privilege.

Renata Sankar, Board Member

Renata Sankar is a marketing, communications and project management professional with over 15 years of experience in sport and event production. She has led major sporting, cultural and corporate events across the Caribbean and internationally, specialising in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and innovative delivery models. Renata serves as Board Member, Director of Special Events and Ceremonies, and Public Relations Officer, supporting brand visibility and athlete-centred experiences. She believes in the power of teamwork, creativity and shared purpose.

Drexel Joseph, Athlete Representative & Board Member

Drexel Joseph is an accomplished Special Olympics athlete and athlete leader who represents the athlete voice on the Board. He has competed nationally and internationally in football, floor hockey and powerlifting, earning multiple medals at World Games including gold in football. His journey reflects resilience, perseverance and excellence. Drexel advocates for athlete empowerment, leadership development and expanded opportunities within Special Olympics. He is motivated by the belief that sport changes lives.

Ferdinand Bibby, National Director

Ferdinand Bibby has been involved with Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago for over 30 years and currently serves as National Director. He has contributed as a volunteer, coach, Sports Director and administrator, successfully coaching teams at World Summer and Winter Games. His leadership focuses on strategic partnerships, programme expansion and sustainability. Ferdinand continues to advance inclusive sport initiatives such as Tobago Games and Beach Games while strengthening organisational visibility. He is driven by a commitment to creating an inclusive society through sport.

Eric Cooper, Vice Chair

Eric Cooper is a retired senior member of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard with more than 28 years of service and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board. During his military career, he held senior administrative and operational roles, including Fleet Caterer and Senior Enlisted Advisor, managing large teams and complex logistics. His expertise in organisational management and governance strengthens Board operations. Mr. Cooper began volunteering with Special Olympics at national games and continues to support the organisation through leadership and service. He remains passionate about volunteerism and giving back to the community.

Major David Benjamin, Chairman

Major David Benjamin is a distinguished military officer with over 30 years of service in the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and currently serves as Chairman of Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles in youth development, education, training and administration. He currently oversees specialised youth programmes impacting thousands of young people annually and brings strong governance, strategic planning and operational oversight to the Board. Major Benjamin actively champions inclusive sport and youth empowerment through his leadership of Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago and regional sport development initiatives. He is guided by a lifelong commitment to service, discipline and nation-building through youth development.
